WORLD BREASTFEEDING AWARENESS PROGRAM 2025

Department of Pediatrics are celebrating the World Breastfeeding Week Awareness 2025 from the 1st of August to 7th August 2025 At Hospital Lobby and Auditorium The theme for World Breastfeeding Week 2025 is "Prioritise Breastfeeding: Create Sustainable Support Systems", This theme emphasizes the need to establish long-term, equitable support structures to empower breastfeeding mothers and promote its benefits for both maternal and environmental health.

The Breastfeeding Week was celebrated with enthusiasm and active participation from students, faculty, nursing staff, and mothers. The program commenced with a formal inauguration, followed by an insightful talk delivered by postgraduate students, focusing on the importance of breastfeeding and its role in maternal and child health.

A quiz competition for postnatal mothers was conducted in the postnatal ward, aimed at enhancing awareness and reinforcing correct breastfeeding practices among new mothers.

As part of academic and creative engagement, a poster presentation by interns and postgraduate students was organized, displaying informative and research-based content on breastfeeding. This was complemented by a poster presentation by nursing students, highlighting key aspects of infant nutrition and breastfeeding benefits.

The celebrations continued with a quiz competition for undergraduate students, encouraging interactive learning and testing their knowledge on breastfeeding-related topics. In the same session, MBBS students participated in an elocution competition, eloquently expressing their perspectives and advocating for the promotion of breastfeeding.

The week concluded with a mime presentation by nursing students, which conveyed a strong visual message about the significance of breastfeeding through art and performance.

Overall, the series of events during Breastfeeding Week successfully combined education, creativity, and community engagement, making it a meaningful celebration dedicated to promoting breastfeeding awareness and advocacy.
